Position Specification and Candidate Profile
Working as a team with the client, we learn about the position requirements, qualifications and other characteristics required of an ideal candidate. We also learn further details about the company’s values, organizational relationships, and strategic objectives relevant to the position for which we are recruiting.
Compella Candidate Interviews and Evaluations
From the sourcing process, we engage in a comprehensive qualification, evaluation, interview, and due diligence process to assess a match and determine interest level on behalf of the candidates. Prospects are interviewed by a Compella Professional who evaluates each prospect on the basis of the client requirements, experience and potential cultural fit with the client organization.
Strategy and Candidate Identification
Based on our client’s position requirements, we create a strategic plan of action to identify the most qualified candidates. We develop a comprehensive profile of the client company and include the position specifications for use in our discussions with prospective candidates. Our prospects come from a large target pool of candidates: those who are actively open to a new role, and also, those who are passive job seekers (they are not actively searching but are interested upon hearing about the opportunity). Presentation of Top Candidates To Our Clients
We present those candidates who most closely fit the client’s requirements and have a genuine interest in the opportunity. In our presentation, in addition to the resume or CV, we provide a comprehensive career appraisal created from our candidate meetings and discussions. This document addresses: how the candidate is qualified and could add value, why he or she is specifically interested in this career opportunity, an overview of the candidate’s motivators, career progression decisions and other relevant details.
As early as possible in the search process, we conduct extensive confidential references on all candidates. We contact individuals (acquainted with the candidate), with the emphasis on supervisors and managers who are capable of providing insights about the candidate’s qualifications. We gather in-depth input on the candidate’s relevant professional and personal characteristics, such as their leadership abilities, technical and functional competencies, soft skills, integrity, communication skills and overall fit for the position.
Facilitating Client Interviews with the Candidates
We then arrange a series of meetings (which may include initial phone interviews) between the client and the lead candidates ensuring that the client is fully briefed about each candidate in advance of any meeting, and that each candidate is fully aware of the demands of the position and the organization itself.
Immediately following the client interviews, we debrief both the client and the candidate to gain their reactions and expectations. We help the client, where appropriate, to assess the candidate against each element of the specification to use in forming his or her conclusions. It is at this stage that the preferred candidate is selected.
During this phase, at the client’s request, we are happy to assist in the contract and compensation negotiations, address issues related to career progression and obtain any additional formal references.
Closing the Search and Follow Up
We help our business client and the chosen candidate with a smooth transition of the candidate onto their team. We follow up with candidate and client at regular intervals after the placement to check on performance and fit. Our diligence in this regard stems not only from professional pride, but also from our long-term outlook toward clients and candidates.
